Opportunity Prioritization Tool

Excel-based decision-support tool for evaluating projects and allocating resources (funding, personnel)

Group:  jet engine business, aftermarket, maintenance cost reduction manager plus one dedicated analyst, engineers from 5 - 6 divisions of the enterprise

Aftermarket Maintenance Cost Reduction Project Manager

Need: standardized evaluation of business cases:   investment opportunities, specific project types:  part cost reductions, part mix changes, durability improvements, new repair types, etc.

  1. Provides background data accumulated and scrubbed from the enterprise to the user representing as-is state (part catalog, repair history, etc.) (see OPT ETL project)
  2. Enables the user to enter a project by selecting parts, SV's, etc., and investment and modifying as-is attributes to will-be states
  3. user enters project parameters
  4. Runs complex financial analysis (sv cost, part cost/repair replace mix, effectivity dates, aftermarket and production, shop visit scheduling) plus qualitative/subjective/judgemental factors to generate a project score.
  5. generates scoring model, cash flow differentials, DCF, NPV plus qualitative factors
  6. Ranks all projects by score.
  7. Provides numerous Excel-based reports for cost reduction manager and departmental users.
